The artwork from the copper piping series “Curve” was generated by the timing of my curiosity and infatuation with the beauty and dexterity of the copper material. Simultaneously I had been asked to create an artwork for a client with a very specific brief which directed me to creating an art piece in copper. The artwork required to be both robust and light in structure and form, as well as durable considering it would be exposed to direct sun rays during the European summer. Lastly the artwork needed to be very thin as it was on the wall of a narrow stair case and fit harmonious with the Artdeco decor in my client’s house. The same client ordered another art piece, this time for their summer beach house using the same material. The artwork needed to withstand all the exterior elements of a wild coast environment.
